Point of care
From NursingWiki
Point of care, also called point-of-care, capitalized Point Of Care, or abbreviated POC, refers to interventions, procedures or events that occur in close proximity to a patient or at a patient's bedside. The term is used to contrast with aspects of patient care that occur elsewhere. So, for example, a lab analysis of a venous blood draw to determine blood glucose level would not be a point of care procedure, while a fingerstick analyzed in a glucometer in the patient's room would be.
